Hog Island
Last minute plans for rides have been turning out great lately besides all the blown headlights(I still can't believe I made it home without incident a few weeks ago with a blown headlight at 10:30 at night 25 miles outside of richmond and a good 45 to 50 from home). This past Sunday I headed out from Richmond on the xlch to meet up with Will who was heading up from Suffolk on his Triumph. No plans other then to meet each up somewhere in between and ride around a bit. Man... SO much fun! we really need to set up a camping trip at some point or a yearly/monthly ride.
shady stop spot on the side of the road, perfect cause it was kinda warm like 101 or so
heading to the country store...
Ice cream and glass bottle coke and Will getting text that he doesn't have to get back right then, sweet. Country store had a map so we were talking about what to do and where to head. Super annoying 50 year old man waiting for his mom to pick him up wanted to talk trash and tell Will that he had seen more then we ever would and had such a good eye he even knew Will's Triumph was actually a Honda. Peace old man...ah man why didn't i take a picture of the one bad thing that happened that day, oh thats right he was that freaking annoying we had to split, quick.
This is Williamsburg across the water on the horizon, Hog Island to the right, and Dominion somewhere around the peninsula on the left. We almost started to get to the entrance to Dominion Power's nuclear power plant and realize very bad things will probably happen if we don't turn around immediately due to the threatening signs and tire spikes etc.
The crabs seemed plentiful...if we only had some string and a chicken neck.
Will probably kept this guy with his son from catching the buzz he wanted as he scored us a couple amazingly refreshing Bud Lights, your the man that hit the spot.
101 in the shade
Heading Home. With another blown headlight, so much less scary during the day.

Forest Hill Park first day back
First day back riding. A long 6 and a half weeks after smashing my foot and snapping my toe (yes i know its just a toe but too messed up to ride) Super fun but so hot, 100+. Rode some of the north shore trail then some of buttermilk and the pictures are from Forest Hill Park. The trails in Forest Hill Park were not all that exciting when I rode them a couple years ago but there has been serious work done and these are so much fun. Get out and ride!
